PBH Hair Care: Dos & Don’ts

Do:

·Wash your hair before initial install

·Only use hair care products that do not contain harsh chemicals. Stay away from alcohol and sulfate. The best brands for Virgin Remy hair is Organix and Herbal Essences.

·Wash hair extensions every 2 weeks

·Co wash hair extensions every week

·Wrap hair extensions at night, preferably with a satin cap

·Use heat protectant on hair extensions when flat ironing or wanding hair.

·Seal the weft of hair extensions before every install

·Comb hair extensions from the ends to the root to avoid tangling and shedding

·Use a wide tooth comb on hair extensions

Don’t:

·Use harsh hair care chemicals on hair extensions

·Rub the hair extensions when washing it

·Blow dry your hair extensions

·Excessive hair products on hair extensions

·When installing the hair extensions, do not puncture the weft. Use the loop method and flip over method when sewing the hair extensions

PBH Hair Check List

PBH always stresses the importance of self-education of virgin hair. PBH encourages clients to “do their homework” when it comes to purchasing Virgin Remy hair so that clients know what they are getting for their money.

Below is a checklist for your virgin hair. Whether or not you use this list for PBH products or products from another company, ALL virgin hair should pass this test. If your Virgin hair does not pass this list, contact your vendor immediately to ask them why.

Initial Review

When removing the hair from the package, there is no residue on the inside of the packaging.

There is no odor coming from the hair once the package is opened.

The colors of the bundles should vary.

The color throughout each individual bundle should vary.

There should not be any excessive, if any, tangling or shedding when running your fingers through the hair.

When combing through the bundle (using a wide tooth comb), there should not be any excessive tangling or shedding.

Pre Install

When washing the hair (with proper hair care products and cold water), the water should not change color significantly.

After washing the hair and letting it air dry, the wave or curl pattern should come back without having to use any hair styling equipment (flat iron, curling wand, etc.)

If bleaching or dyingthe hair, the hair has become dry and needs moisture. After moisturizing the hair, the hair should not shed or tangle excessively.

Installation Process

After sealing the wefts before install, the hair should not shed or tangle excessively.

When running your fingers through the hair from the back of the neck, the hair should not tangle or shed.

The hair should not shed or tangle excessively with proper care.

Testing the Limits

If desired, with extra or left over hair, the hair should be able to change color up to #613 (bleach blonde) or very close to it.

If the hair is wavy or curly, the hair should be able to be straightened and not tangle or shed excessively.

If the hair is wavy or curly, the hair should be able to be straightened, co washed, and return to its natural wave or curl pattern.

The hair should be able to get wet in the rain, co washed, and return to its natural wave or curl pattern without any excessive shedding or tangling.
